After an unprecedented series of natural disasters threatened the planet, the world’s leaders came together to create an intricate network of satellites to control the global climate and keep everyone safe. But now, something has gone wrong—the system built to protect the Earth is attacking it, and it’s a race against the clock to uncover the real threat before a worldwide geostorm wipes out everything…and everyone along with it.

These fundraisers benefit all of our squad members whether it is to fund future camps, end of season events, training equipment, marquees for outdoor meets, trophies for end of year presentation, medals for the Kings Encouragement Meet or training equipment for the dryland program.

It would be great if you could roll up your sleeves and help. The good news is that this fundraiser is super simple… and delicious.

Cadbury Fundraiser: we’re selling Cadbury Freddo & Friends Funpacks or Goody Boxes.

Every box of Cadbury Chocolate we sell will raise $20 so we’re asking all families of Kings Swim to sell at least one box for us. Feel free to grab another box if you’ve got lots of hungry buyers lined up!

If you have not already collected your box of chocolates, please collect your box of chocolates this week from Narre Warren or Frankston.

Tips for selling your treats
• Each item sells for $1.00
• Sell to family members, colleagues, friends or neighbours
• We don’t recommend that children sell the products – if they are involved, please ensure an adult is with them at all times

Please return your money collected to a Committee Member in the envelope provided WITH YOUR FAMILY NAME WRITTEN ON THE EVELOPE no later than 30th October 2017.

If you’re finding it hard to sell your box of treats, let us know – other people may be able to help.Or, if you can’t help out in this fundraising drive, please let Tania know by 14th October 2017.

Thanks for your support.

The next Kings Swim Club Committee Meeting will be held on Friday 10 November at Narre Warren from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

All welcome.

Minutes from previous meeting can be found here.

Long Course Competition Calendar available here!

Swimmers should discuss entries with their coach before entering.

This year Swimming Victoria will be holding the Victorian Sprint Championships in November instead of February, and introducing a new Victorian Relay Competition in February. It will be great fun to have some Kings relay teams at the relay comp – just waiting for more information to be uploaded online to get an idea of how it will be run.

Due to the limited opportunities our swimmers now have to qualify for Sprint Champs and Age Champs, you will notice the calendar is quite busy. This is to ensure I give all of our swimmers the best chance of achieving their personal goals for the season.

With the AIS camp in October, and limited amount of time to qualify for championship competitions over the next few months, I am planning to include an away competition in 2018, instead of before Age Champs as we have previously done.

Happy racing to all Kings swimmers!

HOW TO ENTER MEETS
The preferred method of entry for most meets is via online entry through the Swimming Victoria website.
1. Go to the Swimming Victoria event calendar http://www.vic.swimming.org.au/calendar.html
2. Find the event name listed above (may be slightly different)
3. Print off EVENT FLYER circle the events you would like to do and bring to training to discuss with your coach.
4. Enter the event by clicking ONLINE ENTRIES, and follow the prompts. Comps often close early due to reaching capacity, so please register early to avoid missing out.

It is unfortunate that we must once again announce that we are losing one of our swim club coaches. Joshua Lorimer advised the club on Monday that he would not be continuing as a coach and will be finishing up with us on Friday 13th October 2017.

Josh has come to the realisation that his passion is more as a swim teacher rather than a coach and as such he will be stepping back from club and spending more time in the Kingswim learn to swim program and on his studies.

Whilst we are disappointed, we respect Josh’s decision and thank him for all of the time and effort he has put into club over the past two years and we wish him well in his future endeavours.

Josh you have been an amazing influence on our swimmers, you have helped them grow as athletes and in their overall level of confidence in their strokes. You have been an outstanding coach and you will be very sadly missed out on pool deck at Narre Warren.
