Join the Committee

The Committee are responsible for the smooth running of Kings Swim Club.

The Committee organises Club Race Nights, Encouragement Meets, camps, fundraising activities and start of season and end of season functions. In addition, the Committee collects the Annual Registration Fee money, order and distribute uniforms, caps and goggles, arrange awards and trophies. The Committee is also responsible for communication across the club including newsletters and email communications and we also maintain the Kings Swim Club website, Team App and Facebook page.

Without the Committee there is no club. All positions on the Executive and General Committee are vacated each year. A new Executive and General Committee are appointed at the Annual General Meeting which usually occurs in May or Jun.

Members of the Committee must be over 18 years of age and hold a valid Working with Children Check with Kings Swim Club nominated in their registration. Committee members are also required to be registered members of Swimming Victoria to receive Directors Liability Insurance Cover.

We are always looking for new Committee members to contribute fresh ideas, inspiration and new skill sets. If you feel you would like to play a greater role in Kings Swim Club as a parent or a swimmer you are always welcome to join us. Contact

*All matters pertaining to the “wet area” including Coaching are administered by KingSwim on behalf of the club.

Fundraising Events

Each year Kings Swim Club conducts a number of fundraising activities. These fundraisers benefit all of our squad members whether it is to fund camps, end of season events, training equipment (like speakers for music, iPads for Coaches to video swimmers), marquees for outdoor meets, trophies for end of year presentation, medals for the Kings Encouragement Meet or equipment for the dryland program.

Getting involved in these fundraising events is a great way to meet other parents in the club and share a laugh. We understand that there are times when you have other commitments and are not able to help, but please put your hand up where you can and help make Kings Swim Club great!

Some of the sources of fundraising we undertake each year are:

  • Bunnings BBQ Day
  • Chocolate Fundraising
  • Hot Cross Bun Drive
  • Encouragement Meet Raffles
  • Encouragement Meet BBQ

Encouragement Meet

The Encouragement Meet held at Toorak College in March each year is an extremely important to Kings Swim Club and gives us the opportunity to showcase our club and swimmers.

We need as many members and parents as possible to help with the setup, pack up and throughout the day to make it a success. The Committee and Coaches do an enormous amount of work to get the Encouragement Meet up and running each year and always do the majority of the work on the day.

We need your support – particularly with the setup and pack up. Generally, we need 4 or 5 Frankston parents to come down at 7:30am and help us set up marquees, chairs, tables and the BBQ area. We then rely on 4 or 5 Narre Warren parents to help out for an hour or so after the meet and to pack everything up.

During the day, if you would like to help at the BBQ area make yourself known to one of the Committee Members and we will gladly put you to work.

Swim Meet Volunteers

For some swim meets, Kings Swim Club is required to supply TimeKeepers and Marshalls.

A roster for Timekeepers and Marshalls will be sent to the Club President and Kings Swim Club is expected to provide the resources from the Committee or members and parents.

Marshalling requires a valid Working with Children Check under the new Safe Sports regulations. Timekeepers only need to show valid photo ID to the Chief Timekeeper when they sign in. Timekeepers will be allocated a wrist band upon sign in before they can access the Pool Deck.

If you feel this is a way that you could contribute, please let a member of the Committee know.
