Jess Bird

Head Coach

Jess joined the Kings Swim Club as Head Coach in September 2015.

Her love for swimming developed from a young age through learn to swim, lifesaving and as a squad member at Melbourne Vicentre Swimming Club. Jess made the transition to swim teaching after leaving high school and discovered a passion for coaching after being given the opportunity to run the squad program at Pelican Park eight years ago, where she later founded the Peninsula Pelicans Swimming Club.

Jess has developed swimmers to both State and National level and believes every swimmer should have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. She understands that each swimmer is unique and learns skills differently and she enjoys the challenge of finding the key to effectively communicating with each swimmer so they can develop a solid base of proficiency for their future success.

Jess currently holds her Bronze coaching licence with ASCTA and she is also completing her degree in Public Relations at RMIT.

Jess believes there are important life skills and lessons that can be learned from participating in a vibrant club environment like Kings Swim Club.
