Training Expectations

At Kings Swim Club we expect commitment from our Squad Members to their training.

  • Bronze Squad Members are expected to train three times per week
  • Silver Squad Members are expected to train four times per week
  • Gold Squad Members are expected to train five to six times per week

All Squad Members are required to achieve a minimum training attendance standard or risk being moved back a squad. If you are unable to attend a training session, please notify your Coach.

Do not enter the pool prior to training or warm up except with the permission of your Coach. No running on pool deck.

Listen and follow your Coaches instructions during lessons. Failure to do so may result in you being removed from the pool for part or all of training session.

Challenge yourself, make friends and work hard to get the most out of your training sessions.

Keeping Healthy

Colds, viruses and other illnesses are part of every day life.  But you can avoid sharing it with the whole squad.

Notify your Coach if you are unwell and take time to recover from illness. Training whilst you are unwell may not only affect you, but means you risk passing the illness onto other members of the squad. Please do the right thing, be sensible and avoid getting sick or sharing it with others.

All swimmers are expected to be dressed suitably for the season. In winter in particular this means warm, sensible clothing to and from training along with appropriate footwear. Swimmers should never leave training venues in bare feet.
